Peel Trade — swap vault copies, not originals
Last updated: 26 August 2026. This is a working draft, not legal advice.
A Peel Trade is an on-platform swap of two live buyout listings. Each side receives the other’s isolated vault copy. Original GitHub repositories stay with their founders. It is not a company swap, not a bunch handshake, and not a cash sale of one peel unless a top-up is recorded.
What can be traded
Only peels: live buyout listings that already passed the secret scan and have a vault copy. If your project is still only on GitHub, Drop a Peel first — same scan, same Seller IP Assignment Deed, then propose the trade.
Bunches cannot be traded. A bunch means the founder keeps the original repo. Trading would not move that repo.
How a trade completes
You send an offer from the listing or the other seller’s public profile: which peel you give, which of theirs you want, an optional cash top-up, and a note. They accept or decline in the cabinet. You can withdraw while it is pending.
Accept composts both listings and opens two Peel It Off deals. Each person is the buyer of one vault copy and the seller of the other. Both accept the Buyer Pre-Access NDA. Each copy has its own 3-day inspection window, GitHub invite, and claim path.
Cash top-up
An even swap moves no cash. Either side may add a dollar top-up if the peels are not a fair match. The 10% platform fee is taken only from that cash, the same way as a peel sale — from the recipient’s payout, not added on top.
Until Stripe is live, cash is a preview record. No card is charged. Vault copies still swap.
If one side claims
The two deals are paired. A claim on one vault copy holds both. A refund relists both peels and cancels the trade. Silence at the end of both windows, or both buyers approving, completes the trade.
Selling or buying a vault copy still requires the Seller IP Assignment Deed and the Buyer Pre-Access NDA. See Fees and Terms. Questions: info@boredbanana.io.
